Clarinda City Council recaps FY19 and approves final payment for Facade Rehab Project

The Clarinda City Council met in regular session Wednesday night.
Clarinda City manager Gary McClarnon says the fiscal year was a good one for the city.

"Just kind of a recap for fiscal year 2019, we had total revenues of 44.1 million and total expenditures of 43.2 million.  So we ended up adding to our fund balance $900,000."

McClarnon also says the facade rehabilitation project has been completed.

"Then we had approved a final pay request in the amount of $37,638.47 to Grand Contracting LLC for the Clarinda Facade Rehabilitation Project.  That project is completely finished now and this last pay request is the retainings that we were holding on the project.  It is completed at this point.  Last pay request was approved unanimously.  Kind of funny, when we originally started this project, it was actually in 2014, then we had a couple of bumps along the road, but once the contractor got started, it took a year and a half to actually complete the project.  So it was a long project overall, but it was certainly well-worth it."

The Clarinda City Council meets again November 26th if there is new business.
